Janna Louise Design is an art-jewelry studio based in Portland, Maine. We create one-of-a-kind, keepsake jewelry to wear throughout life. All of the work is created by hand to preserve the human-made qualities that cannot be replicated by machine.

Janna Rayworth is a compulsive creator. She dabbles in painting - mostly watercolor and acrylic - drawing, weaving, designing stationary, photography, and at any given time is knee deep in various knitting projects. Originally from central Massachusetts, she has now chosen to reside in the beautiful city of Portland, Maine.

Janna first tried her hand at selling jewelry in early elementary school, making embroidery floss bracelets with her older sister and selling them for twenty-five cents at the end of her driveway. Business was okay. She later decided to take her first metalsmithing class while living and studying in Italy and then adapted her jewelry making process to the confines of city apartments. After a few years of working full time in office settings and feeling a creative hole, she became fully absorbed in metalsmithing - working in her home studio, as well as spending time creating at her studio away from home in Yarmouth, Maine. She loves the process of manipulating metals into beautiful, wearable forms.

Inspiration includes: nature, architecture, art deco, and minimalistic designs. Most designs are dreamed up from observing her surroundings.
